Clinical Psychology Dr. Roberta D. Conant, PsyD, MEd
I love working with all types of crisis, especially families and behavior issues in raising children. I have worked with severe issues of depression, mood and anxiety as well as developmental issues. I am strength-based clinician working to facilitate more efffective choices in life. By training, I am an experienced doctoral level clinical psychologist. My specialties include two years of family therapy training, child behavior management, grief, disabilities, resolution of depression and anxiety. My dissertation focused on widow's experiences after sudden death of a spouse. I particularly enjoy working with children and parents. I also enjoy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Tourette's Disorder, compliance management, adjustment to illness, hypnosis, stress management. I have worked extensively with all types of disabilities, eating disorders and with severe behavior problems. I have taught special education and am familiar with learning disorders, ADHD and Autistic/ Aspergers/ PDD spectrum disorders of all types and levels. I worked at the Martha's Vineyard Cerebral Palsy Camp. I enjoy individual therapy with adolescents and adults. I work in consultation with a psychiatrist but do not push medications. My hope is that the individual or family become more effective in their lives.
